GIS

The GIS team provides mapping data used in our jurisdiction’s 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). This team builds a comprehensive and highly accurate data set of street, address, and jurisdiction boundary information. It is used to aid the 9-1-1 call-taker in identifying the location of a caller, whether from a wireline, wireless, or VoIP device.  The caller’s location displays on the 9-1-1 operators screen, which can assist emergency service responders in reducing response times, leading to the saving of lives and property of those we serve.
