TECHNICAL Operations

The Technical Operations Team is responsible for 24/7 support for PSAPs, analysis of 9-1-1 call routing and troubleshooting, testing 9-1-1 mapping and software, and technical support. This team also plays a support role with PSAP building moves,  consolidations, and power infrastructure. Next Gen 9-1-1 implementation is at the forefront of activities and participation with standard-setting bodies for improved service for the public and our member agencies.

The Network Team is responsible for 9-1-1 Network support, District staff Technology, and Security. This team provides the network infrastructure that delivers 9-1-1 calls and provides ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and analysis to minimize service disruptions. This team also provides the Technology to support the administrative staff that supports our 9-1-1 call centers. The Network & Technology Team is also responsible for identifying and reducing security risks to our systems and networks.

The GIS team provides mapping data used in our jurisdiction’s 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). This team builds a comprehensive and highly accurate data set of street, address, and jurisdiction boundary information. It is used to aid the 9-1-1 call-taker in identifying the location of a caller, whether from a wireline, wireless, or VoIP device.  The caller’s location displays on the 9-1-1 operators screen, which can assist emergency service responders in reducing response times, leading to the saving of lives and property of those we serve.
